The most recent episode of the show is now is now available on the Designing Worlds website at the Treet TV archives – and can also be downloaded free of charge from iTunes.
Just over a year ago, the Meta Makeover show visited the lovely desert island of Matanzas. It was our third episode, and we asked The Loft to make over a beautiful Nikki Brennan beach home owned by Skate Foss. They did an outstanding job – and Skate was thrilled with her new home.
So much so that when, earlier this year, the owner of the island decided to sell, Skate couldn’t bear to lose it! So … her solution was to buy the island!
Now she has converted it from a slightly arid desert island to a stunningly beautiful tropical estate with a number of private residences, and some spectacular public spaces, created by the landscaper Kaja Lurra.
We visited the island to find some of the most stunning waves we’d ever seen – the form splashing up the rocks was particularly impressive! And in addition, there was one of the most beautiful waterfalls that Elrik and Saffia agreed they had seen in all Second Life.
And you know Saffia’s Second Law of Second Life – that behind every waterfall there must be a cave? (“It’s in the Terms of Service somewhere,” she says. “I just haven’t found it yet.”) Well, on Matanzas, there’s something rather different behind the waterfall.
It’s a tropical rainforest, complete with storms and brightly coloured parrots!
So make sure you watch the show and see all this fantastic landscaping for yourself!
Don’t forget, even though our show is now called Designing Worlds, we are still doing our Meta Makeovers, where we bring in a top designer to make over your virtual home or garden!
So if you would like to have a virtual home or garden given the treatment by a top designer, send an email to us at firstname.lastname@example.org with three or four pictures of your home or garden attached, and stating your reasons why you would like a makeover.
And if you know a special place in Second Life that we should really feature on the show, drop us a line too!
