The most recent episode of the show is now available on the Designing Worlds website at the Treet TV archives – and can also be downloaded free of charge from iTunes.
On the show we had a fascinating Meta Makeover – where we make over someone’s home. This week we were on the futuristic utopian sim of Extropia, with beautiful clean lines and open spaces. The pod homes might be small, but they all have fantastic views and side sweeping windows. So how does a designer create an ambiance to match, for well under 100 prims?
Faced with a challenge like this, we turned to Salome Strangelove of Facade Furnishings, who was last on the show to make over a beautiful London townhouse over a year ago. Salome talked to Alesia Markstein, whose home was subject to the makeover, and came up with a design concept that is really fascinating – and extremely low prim!
Salome faced two main challenges – to keep within the low prim count, and to create a design the worked with the huge wide windows in Alesia’s home. Her choices were bold and exciting, creating a stunning living space … and she even had enough prims left over for a beautiful sky garden too!
Salome creates wonderful textures herself, but for this show she also used some objects and textures that she bought in. These include:
Cel Edman – Pixel Lab – Full perm sculpties / Soji Walls
Logan Bauer – Arctic Garden – Full-Perm Flowers
Snowy Hoobinoo – epiSTEMS – Whale Tail, Flower/Plant Sculptures)
soror Nishi – Nishi Gallery – Plant Sculptures
Doris Pfeffer – * Fairy Dreams * – Full Perm Books
Dendre Benelli – Dendre’s Sculpties – Full Perm Open Book
Don’t forget, even though our show is now called Designing Worlds, we are still doing our Meta Makeovers, like this one on Extropia, where we bring in a top designer to make over your virtual home or garden!
So if you would like to have a virtual home or garden given the treatment by a top designer, send an email to us at email@example.com with three or four pictures of your home or garden attached, and stating your reasons why you would like a makeover.
And if you know a special place in Second Life that we should really feature on the show, drop us a line too!
