Designing Worlds has been dark for a few weeks since the annoouncement of the end of live filming by treet.tv – but we certainly haven’t gone away! And we are back today with a show at 2pm SLT Monday 25th July – shown on the Treet livestream – and we’lll be gathering in the studio in Northpoint for a triumphal viewing party too!
Many people were sad when the beauiful – and fun! – Alien Isles announced its closure a few weeks ago. We decided then that we would make our planned return to the region to visit again Lorin Tone and Judi Newall (who had featured in an earlier show about sound creation). The end of live filming by Treet provided a few hic-cups, but we found a brilliant cinematographer who joined our team – Laslopantomik Yao – and with Elrik acting as our sound engineer as well as co-presenter, we got our footage in the can before the Isles closed!
Alien Isles was a marvellous place with wonderful quirky art created by Lorin, Judi and their friends – such as Madcow Cosmos, Glyph Graves, Alazarin Mobius & Photon Pink. It was a place where some of Second Life’s most notable artists came to have fun. And it seems that there may be a repieve for the Isles too … we’ll be talking about that in the studio after the show – so make sure you don’t miss it!
Vodpod videos no longer available.
This isn’t a live show (as you can see, it’s up on the web already) – and we have some other pre-recorded shows to come too – a tour of some of the builds at Relay for Life of Second Life, a visit to the amazing Tardis store, Hands of Omega, which celebrated its Fifth Birthday recently, and a planned return to Imperial College to see a major new project that they are undertaking. Then we will be taking our scheduled break through August, and coming back with a whole new season hopefully in September. We’ll bring you more news about our plans for that shortly.
The Designing Worlds show starts at 2pm SLT, but you should be in our Northpoint studios by 1.30pm at the very latest to make sure of getting a seat. Or – if you can’t attend in person – tune in at 2pm SLT on Monday for the live show – where you can now chat with other audience members and even some of the participants during the show – or catch it later in the week on our shows page on the Treet.tv web site.
