The latest episode of Designing Worlds, exploring one of the most lovely locations in Second Life – where we explore the fantastic world of PaleoQuest in the company of Magellan Linden and a large labour of moles – is now on the web.
We start in Barney’s Bay, a pretty Cornish fishing village (Cornwall, England) created by the Moles – the team of resident builders employed by Linden Lab to create interesting publicly available content to a high standard. They have created fascinating and often quirky builds across the Mainland for residents’ enjoyment – and Barney’s Bay is a great place to start as it has a travel agency that acts a jumping off point to many of these.
From there we travel to the latest creation of the Moles, the great new game from Linden Lab – PaleoQuest. You enter via the Linden Portal Park (where you can also visit other Linden experiences such as Linden Realms, the Cornfield, the Grid Hunt and – periodically – seasonal events such as the Halloween Tour and the Winterfair). And we are joined by Patch Linden and a whole host of moles who help us explore PaleoQuest (or stand and giggle as Saffia manages to be killed yet again!).
PaleoQuest is a wonderful demonstration of what can be achieved in Second Life using experience tools and other elements that have been devised by the Lab. But it’s also great fun, stunning beautiful and very cleverly planned and executed. And it has a great back story too – as you’ll discover!
Did we mention the fact that it’s stuffed with gifts and prizes?
Beluieve us, you won’t want to miss the show – or the game!
