In the episode of Designing Worlds that premieres on Monday 28th December 2020 at 2pm Pacific Time – DW428 – we take a look back at a few of the seasonal tales from the city-state of New Babbage that we’ve presented on Designing Worlds over the past few years.

We start with DW357 – Murder at the Muirsheen Dirkin! in suitably noir monochrome, followed by A Gift from Steam Santa, one of the stories presented in DW326 – Christmas Tales from New Babbage.

Then it’s DW293 – The Cats That Ate New Babbage, followed by a brand new slideshow by Wildstar Beaumont of New Babbage in 2020.

And finally we round off the show with DW183 – The Miracle of the Bells.

Join us at 2pm today Monday 28th December  when you can see the show on the Designing Worlds Vimeo channel at: https://vimeo.com/channels/dworlds. Or join us for our Watch Party in the Designing Worlds studios in the Garden of Dreams at 2pm SLT.

We’ve recently discovered some “lost episodes” of Designing Worlds, including some Tales From New Babbage, so keep an eye open for them over the next while over on the Designing Worlds Archives channel on Vimeo.

In our Winter Places episode of Designing Worlds, DW247, Elrik and Saffia set out to explore some of the wonderful winter regions that you can find on the Second Life grid.

Watch the show above, or you can see it on the Designing Worlds Vimeo channel at: https://vimeo.com/channels/dworlds.

We talk to Kaya Angel of Angel Manor about the special winter landscapes he has created for his region, with a host of activities and events, and Saffia visits the special winter region created by Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith of Calas Galadhon, which has a gorgeous pavilion, activities and events – and a whole fantasy wonderland in the sky!

We also travel around the grid to encounter The Land of Snowflakes, created by Xanthe Firehawk, a traditional Christmas environment; the very wintery and beautiful Distant Edge, landscaped by Bridget Twig and Remuera Seetan. We explore A Wizard’s Winter, where you can ride on broomsticks and explore a stunning beautiful village, and we explore a stunning four-region winter Mountain complex, created by Conte Alchemi – and even try to come back down again …

And Wildstar Beaumont has some beautiful images to share of the Christmas Expo, now sadly finished.

It’s a fabulous show, so do check it out!

Here are the places we visited – note that not all these locations may remain available after Christmas:
