Join us at 2pm SLT today, Monday 13th March, for the new episode of Designing Worlds at our studio in Garden of Dreams, for a very special show, dedicated to Elicio Ember and the special event called Filling the Cauldron.

Elicio’s father has suffered a major stroke, and the family is struggling to meet medical costs associated with his treatment. Since then various groups of people have been putting together ideas, and we’re pleased to announce that we now have THREE ways in which people can and will be able to help Elicio and his family.

Today’s show is therefore a repeat of the show we made last year about Elicio and his work, and his wonderful region – Cerridwen’s Cauldron, a place well worth exploring and at that time newly updated! But we’ve given it a special introduction to explain the situation, and what YOU can do to help.

And full details are also printed at the bottom of this post.

So please join us for a beautful and very special show at 2pm SLT.

Or – if you can’t attend in person – tune in to the web at 2pm SLT on Monday for a showing on SLartist – or catch it later in the week on the SLArtist.com channel, the Aview TV Designing Worlds channel – or on the Designing Worlds blog.

The latest episode of Designing Worlds – when we visit two places – the MadPea International Food Fair, and the amazing cause it is supporting – Feed a Smile, a project of Leben und Lernen in Kenia, Live and Learn in Kenya International – is now on the web!

We visit the Feed a Smile region and talk to Brique Topaz – Brique Zeiner in real life, who is the the Founder and Chairwoman of the German charity Leben und Lernen in Kenia, Live and Learn in Kenya International, whose project Feed a Smile is, and which is based on the shores of Lake Nakuru in Kenya, where they are building a school for local children, through sponsorship of individual children, and through events in Second Life, such as the International Food Fair.

Brique shows us around areas that are re-creations of the work being done on the ground in Africa, and explains how the Food Fair will be supporting the vital work of building a new kitchen for the school, and we’ll be seeing some films of the work as well.

Christmas with the Urchins in New Babbage, photographed by Miss Bookworm Heinrichs

Christmas with the Urchins in New Babbage, photographed by Miss Bookworm Heinrichs

Join us at 2pm SLT today, Monday 19th December, for the new episode of Designing Worlds at our studio in Garden of Dreams – for our special Christmas show from New Babbage.

And, of course, there will be Mr Biggins!

This year’s Christmas show takes a slightly different format. Well-known Babbage personalities – and Mr Merlin and Miss Widdershins, of course! – will be telling two Christmas stories about the Babbage urchins at Christmas time. You could say that one is How the Urchins Stole Christmas, and the second is a sequel to what is probably the best loved New Babbage show, The Miracle of the Bells – which of course, contains the dreaded Book That Must Not Be Named.

And then there’s a very special Christmas song (composed by MacKnight Culdesac) to finish the show – all about the Steam Santa’s somewhat dour companion, the Boiler Elf.

It all makes for a fittingly Christmassy end to our Designing Worlds season – so do join us to watch it at 2pm SLT.

Or – if you can’t attend in person – tune in to the web at 2pm SLT on Monday for a showing on SLartist or on Treet – or catch it later in the week on our shows page on the Treet.tv web site at http://treet.tv/shows/designingworlds, on the SLArtist.com channel, the Aview TV Designing Worlds channel – or on the Designing Worlds blog.

Join us at 2pm SLT today, Monday 14th November, for the new episode of Designing Worlds at our studio in Garden of Dreams – where we will be visiting some of the regions of the LEA (Linden Endowment for the Arts) and exploring the work that some of the artists have produced as a result of the six month grant of an entire region.

And there’s real diversity on offer, from the beautiful Monochrome installation created by Giovanna Cerise, to the fascinating watercolors that you can wander in, created by Ceakay Ballyhoo. Then we’ll be looking at another form of art as we explore the region designed for dance performances by Royal Shippe and Diiar Vader, before exploring the fun of Snarl by Kanashimi Mac, and finally exploring an installation that blends poetry and art in Invictus, created by Storm Septimus.

The range we’ll be seeing is awesome, and we’ll also be talking about the next round of grants for LEA regions. You too could have an opportunity to follow your dream of creating a region wide installation (and probably with the full 30,000 li/prim limit we are promised soon). To do this, go to: http://lea-sl.org/form/lea-air-land-grant-application-round-twelve and complete the form.

This is going to be a beautiful and intriguing show, so do join us to watch it at 2pm SLT.

The latest episode of Designing Worlds – where we visit Burn2 and celebrate the life and work of Ladyslipper Constantine – is now on the web!

Burn 2 is the inworld realisation of the famous Burning Man Festival held annually in the Nevada desert. We look at some of the amazing art of display, taking a balloon trip around the site, seeing the famous Burning of the Man and the Burning of the Temple, and talk to Duna Gant and iSkye Silverweb, who were both centrally involved in Burn2 this year.

We also remember Ladyslipper Constantine, a dedicated Burner and a keen Lamplighter at Burn2 events, who died recently. Saffia filmed a special Celebration of her life and work as a volunteer for numerous organisations and events in Second Life; an extract from this is shown in the episode, but you can also watch the full Celebration here:

It all makes for a very special show!
