The latest episode of Designing Worlds – with a spooky tale in a very spooky location (Octoberville!) – is now on the web!

We start by talking to Cherub Spectre and Master Kaos, the owners of Octoberville, who tell us all about the wonderfully spooky – and hugely popular – region they create for one month every year to celebrate Halloween. We explore Octoberville and learn something of its history – with roots in the real world, as well as its developments in Second Life. And we find out all about the amazing community that has grown up around it.

There’s still time to visit as Octoberville will be open till 5th November!

In the second Part of the show, we have a spooky tale for Halloween (filmed largely in Octoberville). It’s the famous story by Washington Irving – The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, adapted especially for the show by Caledonia Skytower.

You can also view the Legend of Sleepy Hollow as a standalone tale here.

Enjoy – and have a Happy Halloween!

The new episode of the new season of Designing Worlds –as we explore three different stunning locations – each with a very individual take on Halloween – is now on the web – and now we’ll tell you how to get there!

Our first destination offers a collection of beautifully constructed Halloween locations, followed by the Fright Ride to end all Fright Rides! Yes, it’s the special Linden Halloween experience, accessed from the Portal Parks and created by Patch Linden and those amazingly clever Moles – some of whom pop up on the show!

You can find the Linden Halloween Experience (with lots of free gifts) here.

Then our second location is a beautifully dark re-interpretation of a classic children’s tale – Neverland. It’s been created by Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith for their gorgeous Calas Galadhon estate, and Ty says it’s his first venture into major fantasy. It’s gorgeous, with little sinister touches, located over two regions. Do go and explore – but perhaps you don’t want to enquire too deeply into what happened to the Lost Boys!

Start your exploration with a stunning boat ride here – although you’ll need to carry on on foot is you want to reach the final destination – the ballroom!

And our third and final location is a stunning region that draws on a wide variety of horror tropes – can you spot them all?

It’s the Ironwood Hills – a a beautifully spooky region that is available for exploration throughout the year, but currently with some special Halloween touches.
