Join us at 2pm SLT today, Monday 19th August, as we return from our summer break with the first episode of our new season of Designing Worlds at our studio in Garden of Dreams, as we explore just some of the amazing builds that formed part of this year’s Relay for Life weekend.

And we also revisit the beautiful Luminaria ceremony, as we watched it take place outside the telethon studio.

We’ll be looking at the studio, which won a design award, and the designer build on the sim, created by our own Beq Janus, took third prize in its category. We’ll be talking to Beq about her amazing Escher build (and Saffia will be taking the opportunity to explore the underwater aspects of the build as well!).

It makes for another great show – so do come and watch it at 2pm!

Now available on the web – our latest episode, the second of our two visits to the amazing Fantasy Faire.

Saffia talked to designers Kayle Matzerath and Marcus Inkpen about the regions that they created, while Elrik learned about the amazing Fantasy Faire radio (and its rather unusual studio) from Zander Greene, and then had an escorted tour of the famed (notorious?) Explorers’ Club (Oriental Branch) by Martini Discovalante.

We started the new season of Designing Worlds with a retrospective – a visit to the glorious builds of Relay for Life – and also a look at different ways in which people participated in the event. And now you can see this special show here:

We talked to Troy Vogel, winner of the Designer Sim Award, and to Brandon Pappentas, who created the remarkable Babbage Clock and to Crap Mariner – who had a special literary project for Relay for Life.  And we visited a wealth of other places, including the special locations for the Survivors and Caregivers (created by Barnesworth Anubis) and the very striking Mentors Camp – and talking with some of the people behind these. And you won’t want to miss the extract from the gorgeous performance by the Chiang High Trinity Sisters.

We first came across the work of Elicio Ember at the Fantasy Faire earlier this year, when we explored his builds for two of the gorgeous regions there – The Ruins of Nu Orne and Siren’s Secret. Now we pay a visit to Cerridwen’s Cauldron where Elicio has his store … and a whole lot more!

After that we visit someone else who designed for one of the big pre-RFL Fairs – but this time Fashion for Life: Roscko Cobalt, who built the stunning Dreamseeker Czaz region. We came across him at SL9B, and his beautiful build there tempted us into further exploration … We certainly weren’t disappointed to see his work … and we discovered not only a link with Elicio’s work, but also an interesting moderndesign too.
