All Images of The Looking Glass by Wildstar Beaumont

Join Designing Worlds today, Monday 10th April, as we visit an old friend, Marcus Inkpen of the Looking Glass, who has just launched an exciting new building system that allows for creation of mesh buildings within Second Life itself. And we also take a look at the twelve years of spectacular regions that the Looking Glass has created.

From 2pm today you can see the show on the Designing Worlds Vimeo channel at: https://vimeo.com/channels/dworlds. Or you can join us for our Watch Party in the beautiful Designing Worlds studios in the Garden of Dreams.

We find out about the MOD!it Building System that Marcus has created, which will give people across Second Life the opportunity to build homes, buildings and much more with pre-fabricated elements, available in a series of building packs.

And we take a look on things that have been filmed on The Looking Glass itself (as well as looking at a stunning range of Wildstar Beaumont’s images of The Looking Glass).

Then we explore The Looking Glass builds at Fantasy Faire from 2012 until 2022 – the 2023 edition of which, of course, is coming up shortly.

And we end with one of Marcus’ lesser known builds at Fantasy Faire – and a rendition of one of the Fairelanders’ favourite songs.

It’s going to be a wonderful show that you won’t want to miss, so tune in at https://vimeo.com/channels/dworlds or come to the Watch Party in Garden of Dreams!

All inages by Wildstar Beaumont

Join Designing Worlds today, Monday 3rd April, as we take the fifth of a series of peeks into the past of Designing Worlds – and Second Life! This year we’ll be exploring 2012.

You can see the show here, or on the Designing Worlds Vimeo channel at: https://vimeo.com/258414723

Or you can join us for our Watch Party in the beautiful Designing Worlds studios in the Garden of Dreams, where we’ll be discussing our peep into the past – and our own Second Life memories.

This was the year when the Lab stepped further back from the grid, even stepping back from the Birthday celebrations. But it was the year when residents stepped up – and organised SL9B for themselves!

We’ll also be looking back at some of the fabulous places and events in Second Life – and we’ll be re-visiting one of the other Prim Perfect projects that started in 2012 – The Blackened Mirror. And there’s also the chance to see part of one of the much-loved Babbage Christmas Tales …

Plus there’s another overwiew of the year in Second Life as Saffia talks with our resident historian, Marianne McCann.  And Wildstar Beaumont shows more photos from his archives!
